Hilary is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers, holding accreditation since 2014.  

Hilary offers an innovative approach, combining thoughtful philosophical/spiritual reflections with evidence-based practices. She consults with individuals seeking psychotherapy, and with executive leaders, clinical managers, clinicians, and graduates seeking unique professional insights.

In leadership roles Hilary has supervised staff, students, and has extensive experience conducting group supervision.

Hilary brings over 25 years’ experience in the human services sector. She started her career working within the old Kew Cottages Precinct in Melbourne, developing her empathic holistic manner through caring for those living with neurological conditions.

Throughout her career, Hilary has worked with adolescents and adults across the acute mental health, community health, tertiary, disability, and alcohol & other drug sectors. She has experience in treating anxiety, depression, eating disorders, substance abuse issues, psychosis, developmental and complex trauma, and post-traumatic stress. She holds Accreditation as an addictions’ specialist within the Alcohol and Other Drug sector, and has extensive experience supporting people in the processing of trauma.

Initially completing an Arts degree at La Trobe University that explored philosophy, theology, cultural studies, and the origins of modern psychology, Hilary recognised that building upon her knowledge would be key for effectively supporting people navigate the complexities of life. She went on to complete graduate qualifications in Communications from The University of Melbourne, Social Work from La Trobe University, and a Masters in Counselling from Monash University.

Most recently Hilary has completed an Infant Observation, and studies in Jungian psychoanalysis. She is exploring her strong interest in Holotropic breathwork, and in the integration of Eastern spirituality into Western thought, furthered by recent travels throughout India.

Hilary has been in private practice for 11 years.
